Linkin Park已经堪称是当今所谓说唱金属乐界，最亮眼突出的明星级乐队。虽然正式出道前这群来自南加州的小伙子曾经多次被唱片公司婉拒，不过在2000年底首张专辑《Hybrid Theory》发表后所掀起的滔天巨浪，包括红翻大江南北的主打单曲如“One Step Closer”与“In The End”及葛来美奖提名最佳摇滚专辑/最佳新进艺人等三项的肯定，都证明当初那些保守势力忽略了他们结合工业舞曲、金属摇滚及H ip-Hop说唱的绝对潜力，并奠定了他们位居新世代混种音魔的一线地位。

联合公园 (Linkin Park)与知名Hip-Hop歌手杰斯(Jay-Z)在MTV台的策划下，於今年七月份参加了MTV主办的”Mash-Ups ”表演活动，这个企划特别结合了来自不同音乐领域的佼佼者，并将他们的知名作品重新混合后产生新的音乐激汤；此场难得一见的表演於今年7月18日举行，两方人马在好莱坞的Roxy Theater大声对呛！而联合公园与杰斯更进录音室重新录制专辑版本，祭出了Collision Course冲击理论这张CD+DVD的音乐奇迹！其中除了录音室版本及整场”Mash-Ups”的现场演出外，更收录幕后花絮让大家了解这项音乐奇迹的”对呛”过程！这一次联合公园和杰斯所擦出的火花不只在音乐上，此次合作的6首歌中，对於每首歌的歌词做了巧妙地安排连结，每首歌不只音乐契合，连词义也都一气喝成，让所有的LP迷们，有了六首新歌可以早晚膜拜玩味。而首支单曲『Numb/Encore二度麻痹』音乐录影带将自11月5日起一连7日在MTV音乐家首播！

音乐火花不可收拾，英雄惜英雄相见恨晚

当联合公园的灵魂人物麦可(Mike)在1995年初为音乐玩家时，他曾把杰斯首张专辑音乐中饶舌的部分，和九吋钉及非凡人物的音乐，巧妙地结合在一起，但麦可万万没想到在九年后的今天，他们真的有了面对面近距离的合作机会，而且激起的音乐火花一发不可收拾！其实之前有许多DJ都喜欢拿JAY-Z的音乐开刀，将其音乐融合在其他乐手的音乐里，像是DJ Mouse就把披头四的专辑”White”和杰斯的专辑”Black”，重制出一张新专辑”Grey Album”。这次话题性的合作，其实是由联合公园的灵魂人物麦可先出招的，麦可先在杰斯的专辑”Black”中挑出一首歌，并加上联合公园的音乐，产出一种全新的音乐能量，并在第一时间以e-mail跟杰斯分享，当杰斯收到作品时随即燃起他的兴趣，马上约了见面时间，共同研讨专辑走向及表演的细节。而除了首次的碰面讨论外，一直到表演彩排前，双方都仅以e-mail沟通，而原因正如麦可所言的：「我们要保留彼此见面时的那股”兴奋感”，让它留到表演前夕在一次的激汤散发出来！」而为了让这次的合作能以最完美的品质呈现给全球乐迷，联合公园与杰斯决定进录音室再”对呛”一次！「在录音的过程中，我们激起更多的音乐火花！如果只是那场现场的演出，我们都不会知道LP与JZ的音乐可以翻新升华到如此高的境界！」身为制作人的麦可如此的表示著，更觉得制作Co llision Course冲击理论 CD+DVD这张专辑时的压力更大、挑战性更大，而完成时比完成自己的专辑还兴奋！
